Wed 20 March 2024, 19:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Matilda Vinberg highlighted the importance of a connection between our fans and acknowledging their support.

The Sweden international made the move to Hotspur Way in the January transfer window as she joined from Swedish side Hammarby IF and has become an instant favourite with the Lilywhite fanbase.

The 21-year-old was involved in a video that went viral across our social platforms, which included a wholesome moment with a young supporter by giving away her boots following the game with Charlton Athletic in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

When asked about her relationship with supporters on The Debrief, Matilda said: “I have always been really close to the supporters from my previous experiences.

“The supporters are amazing…. All the energy and time they are putting in to come see us play, the least I can do is give my love and support back to them and thank them for coming to the game. It’s really important as a player to feel their support and you can hear them from the first minute till the end."

Matilda opened her account in Lilywhite on Sunday in her first start in the Barclays Women’s Super League, with her goal securing an important 1-0 victory over Leicester City at Brisbane Road.
