Spurs vs Luton | Ange's preview: "Luton are always competitive"

Fri 29 March 2024, 17:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Ange Postecoglou knows we'll have to be ready for an aggressive, competitive opponent when we face Luton Town at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday (3pm UK).

Promoted back to the top flight for the first time since 1991/92 last summer, The Hatters arrive in N17 for the first time since November, 1991 sitting one place and one point above the relegation zone.

Rob Edwards' side have stuck to their guns throughout and a look at their results highlights exactly what Ange is talking about with only six of Luton's 17 losses by more than a goal. They've also picked up some fine results, none more so than a run of one loss in six around the turn of the year. They also nicked a vital late point against Forest last time out.

They're going to be really aggressive against us and we've got to be ready for it

Asked what he was expecting from Luton, Ange said: "A tough game. Luton have been ultra-competitive all year. They've always, in every game, really made it hard for the opposition.

"I think Rob has done a brilliant job this year, considering all the challenges they've had and have currently got with injuries. Every game I've watched them, they're always competitive, they always make it difficult for the opposition and it'll be no different for us tomorrow.

"I've seen them play against City or Liverpool or Arsenal, any of the top clubs, they've still gone out and been really aggressive. They're going to be really aggressive against us and we've got to be ready for it.

"We're back at home, obviously the last game was disappointing but we've got to make sure we get back to playing our football and playing our best because that's what's going to be needed."
