Tottenham Hotspur has been recognised as a European winner in the annual Sustainability Impact Awards by Schneider Electric, the Club’s Official Energy Management Provider.
The awards are designed to recognise organisations that are making a positive impact on sustainability, showing leadership and innovation to reduce its carbon emissions.
As the Premier League’s greenest club, Tottenham Hotspur is committed to minimising environmental impacts across its operations, committing to net zero by 2040.
The Club is working with Schneider Electric - a leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation - to drive innovation and technology around energy efficiency as possible, using 100% renewable electricity across its sites.
The building fabric of the stadium has been designed to be highly insulated to reduce heating and cooling demands and its technology infrastructure allows for the consumption of less power during periods of low activity. LED lighting (including floodlights) and high-efficiency building services systems are in place to reduce energy use.
Further sustainable initiatives include zero waste to landfill, the elimination of single-use plastic water bottles, all food produce sourced within a 60-mile radius of the stadium and sustainability training delivered to all players and staff.
Kelly Becker, President UK&I at Schneider Electric said: "Tottenham Hotspur is leading the way in sustainability. They went above and beyond in terms of our judging criteria when it comes to innovation, inspiration, and leadership.”
