Team news | Man Utd vs Spurs | Werner and Dragusin available

Fri 12 January 2024, 14:30|Tottenham Hotspur

Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that he expects both of our new signings to be available for selection when we make to the to Manchester United this Sunday.

Welcoming Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin to Hotspur Way this week as our latest recruits, Ange will have the duo at his disposal for our visit to Old Trafford.

"I'm really happy to get both boys in," Ange said. "Timo - I think everyone knows his playing pedigree, obviously inn Germany, in the Premier and then back in the Germany. I have been aware of him for a very long time.

"I think he is a good fit for us from a playing perspective but also a good guy, a good personality and very motivated to come to Tottenham and play for us.

"Radu's similar. Obviously a position we kind of prioritised. We obviously went into the season a little bit short in (terms of) numbers in that area - we let Davinson Sanchez go after the window. So we kind of knew that, if there was a good opportunity in January, we were going to move. We've been looking at him for a while.

"Johan (Lange) and the lads in there have worked hard to put some options there and quickly identified that Radu would be a great fit for us - I had a good chat to him. Again I think from a football perspective, but also from the environment and culture that we have, he's going to be a really good fit.

"From what I understand, both will be eligible to play (against Manchester United), which is the first thing and, secondly, Radu has been playing up until last week so he is in good condition. And Timo hasn't played for a little while - obviously they had their winter break (in Germany) but he has been back in training for the last seven to 10 days. So both will be available which is a good thing.

"After the Manchester United game, we have a couple of weeks until our next one, so getting them in this early helps us bed him in."
