Opposition view | What does Erik ten Hag think about Ange's Spurs?

United boss Erik ten Hag spoke about our 'proactive' style of football when asked about us in his pre-match press conference on Friday.

Ten Hag was reminded of our early season meeting back in August - Ange Postecoglou's first Premier League match at home - and a 2-0 victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. That was part of a fine start where we won eight and drew two of our first 10 league matches.

We now meet at Old Trafford with us on a run of four wins in five and sitting just a point outside the top four in fifth. United, meanwhile, sit eighth with 10 wins and nine losses in their 20 league matches so far.

They play really proactive, it's very enjoyable to watch them, with a lot of dynamics

Both teams created chances in an open first half that day - we hit the woodwork twice - before Pape Matar Sarr's first Spurs goal and an own goal from Lisandro Martinez saw us home.

Asked what he'd made of us so far in 2023/24 and what Ange has done to implement a different playing style, ten Hag replied: "It's definitely different. I think it's a really big compliment the way they played, so he changed the environment there. They play really proactive, it's very enjoyable to watch them, with a lot of dynamics. Very proactive. And they combine it with good results.

"But also, when we played them over there, I think we can take belief out of that. I would say, especially in the first 35 minutes, we dominated them. And we should have gone in the lead. But we didn't, so we have to make our own luck and take control of the game, and then we have to finish the chances."
