Robert Vilahamn heaped plenty of praise on Celin Bizet for her impact this season, but believes there’s plenty more to come from the forward.
Joining from Paris St Germain last summer, the 22-year-old has already doubled her goal tally from the last season – netting four goals in 13 Barclays Women’s Super League appearances – and has completed the third most dribbles in the league – only Grace Clinton (49) and Geyse (38) completing more.
Consistency could be a key part of that, with Celin starting in every WSL game this season and has played over 1,000 minutes, while she has featured in all but just one fixture in all competitions during the campaign so far.
Her performances have seen her receive a call-up to Norway’s national squad ahead of their UEFA Nations League play-off fixtures against Croatia at the end of February.
When asked about the Norway international in his pre-match press conference ahead of Aston Villa, Robert said: “I think she has been one of the most consistent players for us this season.
“Celin has been consistently performing well for 90 minutes in each game, she has been working hard, creating assists, carries the ball well and scores goals, while bringing a lot of energy.
“She hasn’t surprised me as I saw last year a player that could be really good, but also poor in some games, however, she has been very good and has nailed down that position. She has tough competition in this team, but she has made it easy for me to play her as she’s doing everything we want from her.
“I still even think she has more potential, she could score even more goals, she could go one-on-one more and put more crosses in. She has top potential to be a top winger in this league.
“She’s still young and always keen to learn, and she can be one of those players that can take this team to even higher places.”
