Molly Bartrip ready for the north London derby on Sunday

Thu 29 February 2024, 10:00|Tottenham Hotspur

We return to Barclays Women’s Super League action on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 12.30pm) as we face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium and Molly Bartrip is ready for our third north London derby of the campaign.

It was a historic day in the reverse fixture back in December, 2023, as Martha Thomas’ strike in the second half secured our first-ever win over the Gunners in front of over 19,000 supporters at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Just a few days before that memorable fixture in N17, we also held Jonas Eidevall’s side to a 3-3 draw in the FA Women’s Continental Tyres League Cup group stage. We took the lead three times but were pegged back on each occasion as the hosts took the extra point on the night after winning the penalty shootout.

The Gunners remain in the hunt for the WSL title, sitting third in the table and three points behind league leaders, Chelsea, and although they have lost twice in their last five league games, Molly is expecting a challenging afternoon at Emirates Stadium but highlighted that we can only focus on ourselves.

Speaking ahead of the north London derby, Molly said: “We have played at the Emirates a few times now and the atmosphere can be good, but these are the games you want to play in. Why can’t we go there and cause another upset?

“Obviously we beat them earlier in the season and we will make sure to take moments from that performance into this game but, of course, we know they are a top side and in a good flow at the moment, so we can only do what is in our power and hopefully we can get a result.”

Tickets on sale for March

Tickets remain available for our next two homes games, starting with the visit of Manchester City (Sunday 10 March) in the quarter-final of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup before welcoming Leicester City (Sunday 17 March) in the WSL.
