Dennis and Percival feature in historic day for Crystal Palace | Loan watch

Araya Dennis and Ria Percival helped Crystal Palace secure the FA Women’s Championship title and promotion to the Barclays Women’s Super League for the first time in their history on Sunday afternoon.

The duo, who were both on loan at the Eagles for the 2023/24 campaign, started the game at Selhurst Park as 6,796 supporters were in attendance – a record crowd for the club – and a 0-0 draw with Sunderland was enough to seal their spot in England’s top division next season.

Araya tested the goalkeeper just after the half-hour mark as she raced through on-goal and sent a rising effort across goal, but Claudia Moan was able to push it over the bar before going on to complete over 90 minutes.

The 18-year-old made 20 appearances this season, scoring twice.

Ria was part of the backline that kept a clean sheet in SE25 as she completed the full match at Selhurst Park, featuring in her 13th game of the season.

Elsewhere, in the FA Women’s Championship, defender Gracie Pearse started for Charlton Athletic and completed the 90 minutes in their 1-0 victory over Southampton at The Valley.
