Spurs vs Forest | Ange’s preview: “We'll have to earn everything, and it'll be up to us to do it”

Sat 06 April 2024, 13:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Ange Postecoglou expects all our remaining matches in the Premier League to be a fight, starting with Nottingham Forest at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday evening (6pm UK).

Forest are certainly fighting against relegation, and Nuno Espirito Santo will return to N17 with the boost of a fine 3-1 win against Fulham on Tuesday. Forest had won three in 19 before that but are now three unbeaten after draws against Luton and Palace and three points above the bottom three ahead of the weekend fixtures.

For Forest, everything is crucial at the moment, so they won't come here and give us anything. We'll have to earn everything

Speaking in his press conference on Friday, Ange said: “They're fighting for every point, every goal. You'll notice that every game that everyone is fighting for something, whether that's up the top, at the bottom, in the middle.

“From our perspective, we know we have to hit a certain level of competitiveness every week, and I think for the most part we've been pretty good. I think the Fulham game (3-0 loss, 16 March) was the one that was disappointing for us.

“Even West Ham, we weren't pleased with the outcome (a 1-1 draw on Tuesday night) but it's a difficult place to go and they're a very well-organised side and it wasn't through a lack of effort that we didn't get what we needed. It's going to be the same at the weekend. For Forest, everything is crucial at the moment, so they won't come here and give us anything. We'll have to earn everything, and it'll be up to us to do it.”
