Spurs 3-1 Forest | Ange's verdict: "It was a super reaction in the second half"

Ange Postecoglou described a performance with 'a little bit of everything' as we beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 in the Premier League at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday evening.

We started brightly and forged ahead on 15 minutes when Murillo turned Timo Werner's teasing cross into his own net. However, Ange felt we lost our way in the second part of the half and Forest drew level with a goal on the break finished by Chris Wood, who also struck the post from close range.

Ange switched two of our three central midfielders at half-time with Rodrigo Bentancur and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in for Yves Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr and we took control again. Two superb strikes in six minutes from Micky van de Ven and Pedro Porro turned 1-1 into 3-1 and our football flowed, Heung-Min Son inches away from a fourth when Matz Sels tipped his shot onto the post.

I thought we lost our way a little bit towards the back end of that first half, but a super reaction and the whole second half we were really dominant

That made it 10 wins from our last 16 games (three draws, three defeats) as we moved ahead of Villa on goal difference into fourth in the Premier League on 60 points - matching our tally from last season with seven matches remaining.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Ange said: "I'm pleased with today. It had a little bit of everything. We started the game well, not just the goal, I thought we controlled the game well.

"Then we conceded from a counter attack which was obviously disappointing. I thought we lost our way a little bit towards the back end of that first half, but a super reaction and the whole second half we were really dominant.

"We played some good football and scored a couple of good goals and created a couple more against a team that is desperate for points and fighting for everything. I guess every team is fighting for something and I thought we handled it really well."

Asked about his half-time changes, Ange added: "It wasn't anything Biss or Pape did, I just thought, I have the luxury of a strong squad now which I didn't for the middle part of the year and I thought we needed some energy and legs in the midfield for the second half because I could see Forest were working really hard to maintain their grip on the game. I thought Pierre and Roddy were outstanding with the energy they brought and the quality they brought in the second half."
