It's positive news on the injury front as Ange Postecoglou has reported that all of our players returned from their international duties unscathed.
After concerns were raised for the likes of Cristian Romero and Heung-Min Son during the break as both appeared to pick up knocks, Ange has confirmed that the pair trained with the rest of the squad on Friday in the final training session ahead of our clash with Sheffield United on Saturday (3pm kick-off UK).
"They have all trained. That is the pleasing thing," Ange confirmed in his pre-match chat with SPURSPLAY. " We got everyone back yesterday (Thursday 14 September) - they had a recovery session - and then they all trained today. They all got through it okay. They were all pretty bright and happy to be back.
"(There's) No (new) injuries, but you still have to take into account that, you know, Romero still had a 16-hour flight back from Argentina and you have to factor all of these things into it. At the moment, everyone is fit, well and available."
Ange however did confirm that Giovani Lo Celso is unlikely to be available for the clash with the Blades as he continues his recovery from a muscle injury picked up in our Carabao Cup second round tie at Fulham last month.
"Gio is still working his way back," Ange explained. "He had a session with us yesterday, but we won't rush him back. It was just good that he got through the session and the plan now is to reintegrate him."
There was positive news though on summer signing and fellow Argentine Alejo Veliz who enjoyed his first session on the pitch with the squad.
"Alejo is finally on the pitch, which is great." Ange reported. "It was his first session yesterday. He's been impatient waiting to get started. It was good to have him involved yesterday and he'll be available from here on as well.
