Bale on our start to the season: 'It's great to see... and hopefully there's still more to come'

Wed 13 September 2023, 17:30|Tottenham Hotspur

Gareth Bale is enjoying what he's seeing of our football under Ange Postecoglou.

A Club legend with over 120 goal contributions in over 230 games across two spells in Lilywhite (2007-2013 and 2020-21), our former forward is appreciating our style under our Australian Head Coach.

Now retired from the beautiful game after leading Wales to their first World Cup in 64 years in 2022, Gareth was speaking to Sky Sports at the BMW PGA Championship as he played out one of his life's other passions, golf, in the Celebrity Pro AM - and he admitted he would relish playing under Ange in his prime.

"Definitely. It's great to see," he smiled as he discussed the prospect of playing in an Ange Postecoglou team. "I think they've got the style back. I think that's probably something the Club was looking for as well and, seeing how he played and performed at Celtic..."

"It's a great start. Hopefully there's still more to come from the team then it will obviously keep getting better and better with the new manager and the new kind of style, like I said, and hopefully they can put themselves up there and give themselves a chance."

Watch - The best of Bale
