Welsh trio Ben Davies, Brennan Johnson and Joe Rodon have learned their route to Euro 2024 this morning (Thursday 23 November).

Having just missed out on automatic qualification for next summer's tournament on Tuesday night with Croatia pipping them to second spot in Group D, Wales will now vie for a place at the finals via the play-offs.

Earning their place in the all-or-nothing knockout games thanks to having played in Tier A of the latest edition of the Nations League, they knew going into today's draw that they would be hosting either Ukraine, Iceland or Finland in their opening play-off game. Their opponent was confirmed to be Finland which will be played out at the Cardiff City Stadium on 21 March, 2024.

If they prevail in that clash, they will then have the home advantage in the second play-off game which will be against the winner of the other Path A play-off game, Poland vs Estonia, five days later.

The Red Dragons have qualified for each of the last two editions of the European Championships. Qualifying for the finals for the first time in their history in 2016, a Gareth Bale-inspired side shocked the continent as they went onto reach the semi-finals in France before ultimately finishing third. They then reached the Round of 16 at Euro 2020 as the tournament moved around Europe.
