Jamie Donley’s 90th-minute winner ensured England Under-19s made it two victories out of two in Marbella this week, as they saw off Japan 3-2 on Saturday lunchtime.

Substitute Jamie struck late with a close-range finish to restore the Young Lions’ lead, after they had initially been pegged back from 2-0 up.

Will Lankshear – enjoying his first international action this week – had earlier made it two goals in two games on a personal level when he produced a calm finish from inside the box to score England’s second. He later hit the post.

All five of our players in the squad saw action during the game – goalkeeper Luca Gunter completed the full match while Alfie Dorrington and Lankshear also started, Alfie replaced by fellow centre-half Ashley Phillips in the 76th minute with Jamie also coming on at that time. Will was substituted on 63 minutes.

Jacob Wright of Manchester City scored England’s other goal from the penalty spot.
