Opposition team news | Striker dilemma for Allardyce's Leeds

Fri 26 May 2023, 15:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Leeds United face a frontline issue ahead of our final day clash with them.

As we head to Leeds on Sunday afternoon (kick-off 4.30pm BST) for what is set to be a grandstand end to the season as Leeds fight for their Premier League survival and we battle for European football, Whites boss Sam Allardyce has admitted he faces a dilemma in terms of his attacking options.

Frontman Patrick Bamford is Allardyce's biggest cause of concern with the striker having limped off during his side's 3-1 defeat to West Ham last Sunday. The former England boss is hopeful though that his number nine can still play a part on Sunday.

Fellow forward Rodrigo - Leeds' top scorer this season and a man who bagged a brace in our meeting at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in November - is also an injury concern for the Yorkshire men having also picked up an issue at the London Stadium. Allardyce, however, confirmed that the Spain international was involved in training on Friday.

"Rodrigo took part in training today. (On) Patrick, we’ll give (him) as long as we can before we make our final selection," the Leeds manager said.

"I’ll gamble on anyone’s fitness if they want to play and if I think they can make a contribution to help us win the game."
