Yves Bissouma has vowed to give back the support shown by fans after enduring an on-off debut season.

A summer signing from Brighton, it has been a frustrating campaign overall for Yves with limited opportunities in the side due to injuries as well as the sublime form of Rodrigo Bentancur alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

We have seen some bright moments from the Mali international across the campaign - including an impressive cameo at the Stade Velodrome in December as we edged Marseille - however, after returning from a three-month injury lay-off in recent weeks, we have started to see just what the 26-year-old is capable of.

Having returned to action at Villa Park last Saturday, the midfielder impressed off the bench against the Villans, as he did from the start against the Bees on Saturday, showing his dynamism and control in the centre of the pitch.

Following the final whistle against the west London side, players and their families took to the pitch to show their appreciation to supporters. Yves later took to social media to reinforce that sentiment and give some honest reflections after a challenging first season.

On his official Instagram channel, the midfielder wrote: "I wanted to thank you for all the support you gave us during this period, especially me when I was injured, you encouraged and boosted me a lot and I hope to give you back this support.

"We would have liked this last home game to happen differently and we are really sorry for that but we still have one last game that we hope to win.

"I know that this season has not been easy but we will do everything to make next season the right one. Thank you again for your support and for always being there #coys 🤍🙏🏾"
