Spurs v AC Milan – how to watch, team news, kit colours, key information

Wed 08 March 2023, 01:10|Tottenham Hotspur

Wednesday night sees us return to UEFA Champions League action in a bid to overturn a 1-0 deficit in our round of 16 tie with AC Milan.

Having suffered a narrow loss at the San Siro last month, it’s all to play for in the return match at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (kick-off 8pm UK) as we look to continue our recent spell of encouraging home form after a couple of damaging defeats on the road in the last seven days.

Here’s all the information you need to know ahead of the match...

How can I watch the game?

Wednesday night’s match kicks-off at 8pm and will be televised live in the UK on BT Sport 1, while BBC Radio 5 Live will carry live radio commentary.

Worldwide broadcast listings are available here if you’re following us from outside the UK.

Before the action gets underway, you can enjoy our popular N17 Live pre-match show on SPURSPLAY, which will be on air from 7pm UK.

During the game itself, follow all the action via our Match Centre here on tottenhamhotspur.com and the Spurs Official app, where you’ll find minute-by-minute text and audio commentary, goal alerts, stats and much more.

What is the team news?

Eric Dier will miss Wednesday night’s match through suspension after picking up his third booking of this Champions League campaign at the San Siro in the first leg of this tie.

Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Yves Bissouma (ankle), Hugo Lloris (knee) and Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring) are all still sidelined.

Head Coach Antonio Conte is back after a period of recuperation in Italy following his recent gallbladder surgery.

AC Milan have a near fully-fit squad to choose from, with first-choice goalkeeper Mike Maignan now fully recovered from the calf injury that kept him out of the first leg.

Sergino Dest, Yacine Adli, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are ineligible to feature in the knockout rounds of the Champions League.

What colours will the teams be playing in?

As is traditional in European competition, we’ll be wearing all-Lilywhite on Wednesday night.

AC Milan will wear red and black striped shirts with black shorts and black socks.

Our goalkeeper will play in yellow, with Milan’s in orange.

Who is the referee?

French referee Clément Turpin will take charge of Wednesday night’s match.

He’ll be assisted by Nicolas Danos and Benjamin Pages, with Jérémie Pignard as the fourth official.

Alejandro Hernández will take charge of VAR, assisted by Willy Delajod.

What will the weather conditions be like?

It’s set to be a cold night in north London on Wednesday, with temperatures down to just two degrees. Sleet is also forecast during the evening.

How can I get the matchday programme?

As usual in the Champions League, we’ve a special bigger, A4-sized official matchday programme available on Wednesday night, which is priced at £6. Among the features included is an exclusive interview with Ivan Perisic.

Fans attending the game will be able to pick up a copy at a number of programme booths outside the ground, in the Spurs Shop at the Tottenham Experience or at the Tap Inn bars inside the stadium, or you can order online here for delivery direct to your door.
