England legends Rooney, Lineker and Shearer react to Kane's record

England legends have heaped praise on Harry Kane after our number 10 became his country's all-time record goalscorer on Thursday night.

It was an historic evening for the Three Lions' skipper as he scored his 54th international goal in his side's 2-1 win over Italy to surpass Wayne Rooney's tally of 53.

Harry was on the pitch when Rooney overtook Sir Bobby Charlton's 49 goals from the penalty spot against Switzerland back in September, 2015, and the former top scorer was among the first to congratulate 'H' on social media.

Former England captains Lineker and Shearer congratulate Kane

Two former England captains with 78 international goals between them, Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer, both took to social media to heap praise on Harry's record.

Lineker, fourth on the men's all-time chart with 48 goals, said: "Many congratulations to @HKane on becoming @England’s highest ever goal-scorer. A wonderful achievement. 👏🏻👏🏻"
