Romero’s reflections on his second season

Cristian Romero has given his honest reflections after a mixed second season at the Club.

Mulling over our 2022/23 campaign on his official instagram channel, Cristian admitted that the season didn't go as the team had hoped but was very appreciative of the support shown by fans throughout.

Following an encouraging debut season in England, 'Cuti' carried on in the same vein of form with some impressive defensive displays that contributed to our strong form at the beginning of the term as we registered our best league start after 10 games.

However, his campaign was disrupted after he picked up a hamstring injury in October, missing our final five matches ahead of the World Cup. Returning to action at the showpiece tournament in Qatar, he shone for Argentina, featuring in all seven of his nation's matches as they went on to lift the most coveted prize in world football.

Back in north London as a world champion, the defender was back in Lilywhite for our first game of 2023 and went on to miss just one of our next 20 league games before missing our final two games through injury.

Despite enduring a more challenging time second time around, 'Cuti' has promised to bounce back and give his all to help the Club improve next season.

“It wasn’t the desired season for us,” said the Argentina international. "But we will try again and do our best to take the Club to the top. We are grateful for your support throughout the season, thank you fans. All together @spursofficial.”
