Fan Advisory Board appointed following independent elections

Thu 06 July 2023, 10:00|Tottenham Hotspur

We are delighted to announce the results of the independent elections, managed by Civica Election Services (CES), for representatives on the Club’s new Fan Advisory Board (FAB).

The independent elections were the final stage of the application process through which supporters applied to join the FAB. Applicants were required to be endorsed by five validated supporters from the section of the fanbase they sought to represent before progressing to a shortlisting stage.

Endorsed and validated applications were reviewed against the FAB member criteria by a Selection Panel made up of supporter group members and Club representatives, working with an independent facilitator. The highest ranked candidates progressed to stand in the independent elections which closed on Friday and the results of which we can now share.

Over 19,500 votes were cast for the 19 shortlisted candidates across four categories. The results confirmed by CES are as follows:

Elected representative: Jonny Tindal

Jonny grew up in Enfield and can trace his family history in Tottenham back to the late 1700s, including his mum being on Tottenham High Road for the Double parade in 1961. He has been attending matches for the last 30 years, the last 10 as a Season Ticket Holder. Jonathan campaigned for Safe Standing and currently runs the Return of the Shelf group which is focused on matchday atmosphere. He works in sales for a technology business.

Season Ticket Holders of the Women’s team

Elected unopposed: Sian Wallis

Sian is the Chair of the Tottenham Women Supporters' Club and a member of the Football Supporters' Association Women's Game Network, representing the network on the National Council and at Board level. She is also a Season Ticket Holder of the Men's team. Sian works for a social landlord supporting tenants.

Hemali was born a stone's throw from White Hart Lane and grew up in Bruce Grove where she worked in a local family business and is a lifelong Spurs fan. Hemali is an NHS GP, working in a multidisciplinary team and communicating with members of the public from all walks of life.

The above are joined on the Fan Advisory Board by the following fan group representatives:

Chris Paouros – Proud Lilywhites

Dee Bright – SpursAbility

Sachin Patel – Spurs REACH

Stephen Cavalier – Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust

Rachel Martin – Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust

The first FAB meeting will take place on Monday 10th July with Executive Director Donna-Maria Cullen and Head of Supporter Engagement Levi Harris - FAB members will vote to select the Supporter Representative Co-Chair. The Co-Chair will attend four Club Board meetings a year.

Minutes from all FAB meetings will be published along with details on how supporters can contact their representatives.

We should like to thank all supporters who have taken part in the FAB process. We received a significant number of high-quality applications and thousands of supporters took the time to vote for their preferred representative. The passion and commitment to the Club was clear from each and every applicant and we are extremely grateful for the time and effort supporters have put into this process - it is testament to what Spurs means to its fans.

The FAB will provide a new forum for elected members from different sections of our fanbase, inclusive and reflective of our diversity, ensuring fans are consulted, kept informed and their views considered during Club decision-making.

The FAB’s remit will cover a wide range of off-field topics, such as the Club’s strategic vision and objectives; off-pitch performance updates, priorities and plans; operational matchday issues; proposals relating to significant changes to Club heritage assets; stadium issues and plans; the Club’s community strategy, equality, diversity and inclusion commitments and plans for broader supporter engagement.
