Our Global Football Development team continue to deliver the Club's football philosophy across Perth and have now delivered 21 sessions to just shy of 1,500 young footballers and coaches since we landed in Australia.

On Monday, the GFD team of Danny Mitchell, Nick Hardy and Robert Gold organised OzSpurs' five-a-side tournament, won by Capri Suns of Perth, before coaching clinics alongside Brandon Austin, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Tanguy Ndombele, Richarlison and Emerson Royal for 50 children from three local community clubs at Balcatta FC, supported by AIA, our Official Global Partner and a special session for charity Telethon with Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie.

Tuesday began with three coaching sessions for boys and girls aged from 9-18 at Mercy College, Koondoola before setting up and running our popular Fan Zone for our pre-season match against West Ham at the Optus Stadium.

They were back in the community on Wednesday morning, starting with a double session with students from SEDA College, Parkwood Primary School, Curtin Primary School, and Chisholm Catholic College. They then headed to Britannia Reserve for sessions with players in the Football West Hyundai NTC Programme for Girls.

It was another full day on Thursday - first up, technical training sessions for a range of age groups at Woodvale Secondary College and their final event in Perth on Thursday evening, a coaching session for Football Futures Foundation at Dryandra Drive and Pendula Gardens, Mirrabooka.

Football Development Manager, Danny, said: "It’s been an amazing week being able to showcase our Global Football Development philosophy to so many young players in Perth this week. We have been able to see such a wide range of players in terms of their ability, background and age-group which has been truly inspiring. But what has been constant, is there is a clear passion for developing the game here.

"All the players, coaches, and the organisations we have worked with have given us all such a warm welcome and feel grateful and fortunate to have worked with so many incredible individuals. A special mention to the Football Futures Foundation and Football West for all their support and for helping us bring our football development programmes to all the players this week. We hope to be back again soon, and can’t wait to return.”
