Another game, another record, another milestone for Harry Kane!
The striker made his 300th appearance in the Premier League - 297 for us, three on loan at Norwich City - in our 4-0 win at Palace on Wednesday evening and, by scoring twice, took his tally to 198 Premier League goals. That means he has set a new mark for most goals in 300 appearances in the competition, toppling the previous best of 196 from the Premier League’s all-time record goalscorer, Alan Shearer.
Harry is within touching distance of becoming only the third player to reach 200 Premier League goals following Shearer’s 260 and Wayne Rooney’s 208.
And that wasn’t all after our stunning second half display at Selhurst Park!
Harry’s goals also mean he’s now scored double-figures in matches played on six days of the week - Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday – the first player in Premier League history to do so.
Harry also became only the second player to score on his 100th, 200th and 300th Premier League appearances after Teddy Sheringham, and he extended his record tally of goals in Premier League London derbies to 47.
On top of all that, he’s now within just two goals of our all-time record goalscorer, Jimmy Greaves, who scored 266 for us in all competitions between 1961-70.
Heung-Min Son was back on target at Selhurst Park, his 20-yard strike our fourth on the night and his 97th for us in the Premier League. That took him into joint-second in our all-time scoring list in the Premier League on 97 goals with Teddy Sheringham, just three away from becoming only the second player to reach a century in the Premier League era.
