
International round-up: Ayane and Summanen among the goals

Rosella Ayane scored the opening goal of Morocco’s 3-0 friendly win against Slovakia on Friday afternoon. The game was level at half-time, but Ayane gave Morocco the lead in the 47th minute.
Nikola Karczewska was on the bench for Poland’s friendly against Switzerland in Algeciras. The game ended in a 0-0 draw.
On Saturday, Wales were held to a 0-0 draw with Iceland in the Pinatar Cup. Angharad James got 90 minutes and Esther Morgan was an unused substitute as Wales made it four points from six in the Pinatar Cup group so far. They face Scotland on Tuesday in the final group game. With Phillippines bottom of the group, Iceland, Wales and Scotland can all still win the Cup on Tuesday.
Drew Spence featured for 61 minutes of Jamaica’s 3-2 defeat against Czech Republic on Sunday, and got an assist for Kameron Simmonds’ equalising goal in the 55th minute, after capitalising on a defensive error. Rebecca Spencer was an unused substitute and Jamaica are now bottom of their Cup of Nations group, having lost both matches, ahead of Wednesday’s game against group leaders Australia.
Finland put eight past Hungary without reply in the Cyprus Cup on Sunday, Eveliina Summanen scoring the seventh goal of the rout after coming off the bench at half-time, making it two goals in two games for the national team. With six points from two games, Finland are top of the Cyprus Cup group and have one game remaining against Romania on Wednesday.
Mana Iwabuchi played 74 minutes as Japan were beaten 1-0 by United States on Sunday in the SheBelieves Cup. Japan are bottom of their group, having lost both games.
Second in the group is Canada, who secured a 2-0 win against Brazil on Sunday, Shelina Zadorsky coming on at half-time. Zadorsky and Iwabuchi are set to go head to head in the final group game as Canada face Japan on Wednesday night.
