Eddie Howe will be hoping Jamaal Lascelles isn't the latest player added to his lengthy injury list after the defender was forced off late in Newcastle's 3-0 loss against Everton at Goodison Park on Thursday evening.
Howe is already without a number of players including Nick Pope, the England international goalkeeper the latest to be sidelined after dislocating his shoulder in Toon's 1-0 win against Manchester United last weekend. Martin Dubravka took over at Goodison.
Sven Botman, Callum Wilson, Jacob Murphy, Dan Burn, Elliot Anderson, Joe Willock, Sean Longstaff, Harvey Barnes, Matt Targett and Javi Manquillo are all out with Sandro Tonali suspended.
Asked about the injury list after the loss at Everton, Howe said: "When you're in my shoes you can only control what you can control, and some of the injuries we've had have just been things we've had no control over. We're missing not just some big players, but big personalities as well that make a difference within the group.
"I have to say that the players have done so well to cope mentally with it. We've beaten some big teams with a hugely reduced squad and that should give us real confidence for what's ahead."
