Roberto De Zerbi has suffered a double injury blow going into Thursday evening's Premier League clash at the Amex (7.30pm UK).
Brighton boss De Zerbi confirmed at his pre-match press conference on Wednesday that Kaoru Mitoma (ankle) and Simon Adingra (hamstring) will both be out for at least four weeks.
Both have been mainstays in De Zerbi's starting XI - Japan forward Mitoma and Ivory Coast midfielder Adingra have both featured in 17 of Brighton's 18 matches in the Premier League so far, both starting 13 times in the competition.
De Zerbi said: “Tomorrow, we have more or less 10 injured players, maybe less, maybe eight, but two players can’t start the game. We’ve lost Kaoru for around four, five or six weeks." On Adingra, he added: “I don’t know if he can play in the African Cup because the injury. He needs four or five weeks. It’s a muscular injury, hamstring.”
Joel Veltman, Tariq Lamptey, Adam Webster, Solly March, Julio Enciso and Ansu Fati all remain sidelined by injury. However, Pervis Estupinan is fit after nearly three months on the sidelines and likely to start on the bench.
