Molly Bartrip: “Everyone has embraced our style of play” | Matchday programme exclusive

Molly Bartrip says the team is embracing our “new style” as we approach some important festive fixtures in the Women’s Super League.

The centre-back has been a constant presence in our defence in a start that sees us mid-table and three points off tonight’s opponents Manchester United in fourth after eight games.

Now, as we enter the start of a busy spell with three games in six days before the winter break – including two north London derbies next week, one staged at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – Molly expresses a collective enthusiasm for the squad’s approach under Robert Vilahamn that extends beyond football and to the team environment too.

Speaking in an exclusive interview in the matchday programme for the visit of Manchester United to Gaughan Group Stadium this evening, Molly explains: “Everybody has embraced the new style of Spurs. Everyone is enjoying playing and there’s a lot of competition all over the pitch which pushes us to improve.

“Every player is wanting to train and play at their best level in order to play at the weekend and we have a group that is like that.

“Away from the pitch, everyone in the squad is a good person and that’s the most important thing – having good people who care deeply about the club. That makes the environment better.”
