Will Lankshear has been shortlisted for November’s Premier League 2 Player of the Month award.

The in-form centre-forward scored in every game he played for both Club and country last month, starting with a brace – including a stoppage-time winner – in our 4-3 win at Norwich City in the Premier League 2 on 3 November.

He also netted our consolation in a 4-1 defeat at Cambridge United in the EFL Trophy four days later, before also finding the target as we won 2-0 away to Peterborough United Under-21s in the Premier League Cup on 12 November.

Earning his first-ever international call-up last month following his good form, Will travelled with England Under-19s for a trio of games in Marbella and duly found the net in every one of them.

Will’s nomination means we’ve had at least one player shortlisted for the Premier League 2 prize every month since the start of the season, with Jamie Donley claiming the award in October.

Also in the running this time are Luca Barrington of Brighton & Hove Albion, Joe Hugill of Manchester United, Callum Marshall of West Ham United, Blackburn Rovers’ Semir Telalovic, Emre Tezgel of Stoke City and the Crystal Palace duo of Ademola Ola-Adebomi and Jack Wells-Morrison.

The nominees were selected by the Premier League Football Development Panel after club coaches proposed the best performances by opposing players throughout last month. The panel will also decide the winner.
