Rosella’s World Cup ends with defeat to France

Tue 08 August 2023, 13:50|Tottenham Hotspur

Morocco were eliminated from the Women’s World Cup following a 4-0 defeat to France on Tuesday.

Rosella Ayane came on in the 64th minute, replacing Anissa Lahmari.

The players can hold their heads high, however. After losing 6-0 to Germany in their first ever World Cup game at the beginning of the group stage, Morocco beat both South Korea and Colombia 1-0 to reach the knockout stage.

Bethany England is now the only Lilywhite remaining in the competition and could feature in the Lionesses’ Quarter-Final against Colombia on Saturday, which kicks off at 11.30am in the UK.
