Here's the lowdown on AFC Bournemouth ahead of Saturday's early kick-off (12.30pm) in the Premier League at the Vitality Stadium.

Form

There were promising signs for Andoni Iraola in his first Premier League game in charge against West Ham as Bournemouth recovered from Jared Bowen's cracker on 51 minutes to level through Dominic Solanke. David Brooks and Joe Rothwell both struck the woodwork for the home side, as did Lucas Paqueta late on for West Ham. Bournemouth then started well against Liverpool and stunned Anfield with Antoine Semenyo's first-minute opener, but were then swept away by the Reds, who ran out 3-1 winners despite playing with 10 men for over 30 minutes.

Manager - Andoni Iraola

A legend at Athletic Bilbao, where he racked up over 500 appearances in all competitions between 2002-2015, runner-up in five cup finals during that time, Andoni Iraola began his managerial career at AEK Larnaca in Cyprus (2018/19) before returning to Spain and spells at Mirandes (2019/20) and Rayo Vallecano (2020-2023) before the Premier League came calling. Capped seven times by Spain, Iraola took Rayo Vallecano back into La Liga and finished 11th last season - they lost just 15 of their 38 games in the top flight.

Players to watch

Bournemouth have been busy in the transfer market this summer with a number of players through the door, most recently USA midfielder Tyler Adams from Leeds United. Alex Scott, last season's EFL Championship Young Player of the Season, has arrived from Bristol City, but is currently out with a knee problem. Max Aarons (from Norwich), Romain Faivre (Lyon) and Milos Kerkez (AZ Alkmaar) have also arrived while Hamed Traore's loan from Sassuolo has been made permanent. David Brooks has started both of Bournemouth's games so far after recovering from being diagnosed with stage two Hodgkin’s lymphoma in October, 2021.

Last time we met

Bournemouth snatched the points in the last seconds of this dramatic Premier League encounter at Tottenham Hotspur on 15 April. Heung-Min Son opened the scoring and had another effort tipped over by Neto only for Matias Vina to level before the break and Dominic Solanke to put the visitors ahead five minutes into the second half. Arnaut Danjuma levelled two minutes from time, but as we all hoped to find a winner, racking up 24 efforts at goal, Bournemouth nicked it as Dango Ouattara slotted home on 95 minutes.
