The Premier League has confirmed that the 'mid-season break' will return to the competition in the 2023/24 season.
In a bid to address the congested fixture schedule, a pause in play will be implemented between 13 and 20 January.
Changes to the festive period of fixtures have also been announced. The alterations will see no two rounds of matches across Christmas and New Year take place within 48 hours of each other.
