A Tribute to Her Majesty, The Queen - Saturday

Thu 15 September 2022, 11:45|Tottenham Hotspur

Saturday’s match against Leicester City represents the Club’s first home fixture since the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II, on Thursday 8 September.

Ahead of the 5.30pm kick-off, we invite fans to join us in paying tribute to the life and service of Her Majesty and mark the beginning of the reign of King Charles III.

Fans attending the match are advised to be in their seats early - players are expected to emerge from the tunnel at approximately 5.24pm and walk directly to the centre circle in preparation for our pre-match tribute.

Floral wreaths will be laid on the pitch by Ambassadors representing both clubs, Ledley King and Emile Heskey, before we observe a minute’s silence - fans entering the stadium at this time may be restricted from accessing the seating area while the silence is in progress.

We invite fans to join us in singing the national anthem, God Save The King, led by Lanya Matthews. Lanya is a Tottenham-born artist who our fans will remember delivered an unforgettable performance alongside students from her former school, Gladesmore, at our stadium’s opening ceremony in April, 2019.

During the match, players on both teams will wear black armbands and fans are invited to join in a minute’s applause on the 70th minute in recognition of the length of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

Our matchday programme features a special edition front cover, depicting Her Majesty presenting the late, great Danny Blanchflower with the FA Cup trophy at Wembley in 1962.

We look forward to welcoming fans on what will be a poignant occasion, as we come together to pay our respects.
