Ivan Perisic became the seventh Spur to reach the knockout stages of the World Cup when his Croatia side claimed a point from a goalless draw with Belgium in Group F on Thursday afternoon.
Once again starting for Croatia in a left-sided attacking role, Ivan went close to giving his country the lead with an early shot before going on to complete the full game.
The result saw Croatia finish as runners-up to Morocco with five points from their three group stage games and eliminated Belgium from the tournament.
Ivan’s side will meet the winners of Group E in the round of 16 on Monday.
Harry Kane and Eric Dier (both England), Pape Matar Sarr (Senegal), Hugo Lloris (France), Cristian Romero (Argentina) and Richarlison (Brazil) are also through to the knockout stages, with two more of our players bidding to join them on Friday. But with one more qualification spot up for grabs in Group H, one only of Rodrigo Bentancur (Uruguay) or Heung-Min Son (South Korea) can still go through. Uruguay face current second-placed side Ghana while South Korea meet already-qualified Portugal at 3pm UK time.
Richarlison’s Brazil – already through after winning their first two games – then play Cameroon in Group G at 7pm UK.
