Drew and Jess nominated for WSL Goal of the Month for October

Fri 04 November 2022, 13:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Drew Spence and Jessica Naz have both been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League Goal of the Month award for October.

Drew and Jess starred in last weekend’s emphatic 8-0 win away to Brighton & Hove Albion with both players scoring twice.

Drew’s first goal, which put us 4-0 up and in cruise control on the brink of half-time, has been nominated. Our no. 24 found the bottom right corner with placement and precision after being put through on goal by a superb back-heel flick from Ashleigh Neville.

Jess' instinctive chip on the hour mark at Broadfield Stadium has also made the shortlist. The hosts barely had time to reset before we won the ball back quickly from the restart and Jess sent an audacious lob over goalkeeper Megan Walsh from long range.

Both Drew and Jess will be looking to keep the trophy in N17 for the second successive month after Ashleigh scooped the award in September for her sublime 40-yard strike away at Leicester.

They face competition from Kenza Dali (Aston Villa), Khadija Shaw (Manchester City), Lauren Hemp (Manchester City), Frida Maanum (Arsenal), Hayley Ladd (Manchester United) and Rachel Rowe (Reading).

Fan votes will help to decide the winners – cast your vote via the link below to give your support to Drew and Jess.

Voting closes at 12 noon on Monday 7 November.
