‘We need to be brave, we need to be clinical’ – Kane on Liverpool

Sat 07 May 2022, 19:15|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane knows we’ll have to be at our best if we are to get something out of tonight’s clash with Liverpool (7.45pm kick-off).

We take on the Reds at Anfield this evening knowing that a victory will take us back into the Premier League’s top four, however Harry is well aware that taking all three points on Merseyside will be no mean feat and will require a perfect performance from us, especially with Jurgen Klopp’s side unbeaten at home in the league since March, 2021 – a run of 21 games.

“It’s a really big game for both teams,” he pointed out ahead of the encounter. “It’ll be a tough one – Anfield is a really tough place to come to and we’ll be playing against a very good side. Obviously, we know the atmosphere can be really tough (to play in) here and Liverpool like to press and put us under pressure. We need to be brave to try and play and play through that.

“I think we need to try and control the game as much as we can. We know it will be tough and they will have spells where they are in control of the ball. But we need to be compact, wait for our chances and hopefully we can be clinical when they come. We’ve had a good week to prepare but we’ve got to go out there and get the three points.”
