Academy is Terborg-bound again

Fri 27 May 2022, 08:54|Tottenham Hotspur

Our Academy’s 2021/22 season comes to a close this weekend as we return to the Netherlands to take part in the prestigious Under-19 Terborg Tournament.

Regular participants at the end-of-season invitational event prior to the pandemic, we’re finally able to head back for the first time since 2019, with some exciting but challenging fixtures awaiting us.

We kick off our group by taking on Belgian side KRC Genk this evening (Friday 27 May) at 6pm local time, before facing Fluminense of Brazil at 1pm on Saturday.

Our third and final group match pits us against Dutch outfit De Graafschap at 4pm that same day, with the knockout rounds and play-off matches set to be held on Sunday.

Also taking part are Palmeiras, Borussia Monchengladbach, FC Midtjylland and Vitesse.

Under-23s Coach Wayne Burnett will lead our team, which features a combination of Under-18 and Under-23 players including Adam Hayton, Aaron Maguire, George Abbott, Matthew Craig, Jamie Donley, Alfie Dorrington, Rio Kyerematen, Jahziah Linton, Dermi Lusala, Billy Heaps, Nile John, Romaine Mundle, Yago Santiago, Charlie Sayers and Jaden Williams.
