Tue 09 August 2022, 15:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Former Tottenham Hotspur Women’s captain Jenna Schillaci joined local youngsters today for a multi-sports masterclass at Summer of Spurs which is taking place in N17 throughout August.

From football to NFL flag football, there was something on offer for everyone this morning as young people of all ages and abilities took part in the sessions at the N17 Arena and Duke’s Aldridge Academy.

Jenna, who has now taken a new role at the Club as a Global Football Development coach, retired from football in 2021 after a remarkable 12 seasons with Spurs Women. Our skipper during three promotion-winning campaigns, Jenna played an integral role in the progress in the team’s rise from playing regional football to reaching the Barclays FA Women's Super League (WSL) in 2019.

At Summer of Spurs, every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday throughout August, a range of sports are on offer at the N17 Arena from 11am-5pm. Later, from 5pm-9pm, coaches from the Club’s Global Football Development deliver technical player development sessions with a chance for those taking part to access the Club’s talent ID and coaching excellent pathways.

A range of special guest appearances, performances and giveaways will also take place throughout the month - keep an eye on our social media platforms for updates. Two back-to-back family fun days will take place at N17 Arena on Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 August celebrating the diversity of the culture that exists in Tottenham with international music, performers and street food.

Jenna said: “It was great to join so many young people from across our community today and take part in the Summer of Spurs. It’s so important to stay fit and active during the summer holidays and there is such a variety of sports on offer that everyone will be kept entertained. I highly encourage for as many young people as possible to come down and take advantage of the brilliant activities available - including any young girls who might be interested in learning football, it’s set to be a great August of sport!”
