Harry Winks notched up his 200th senior appearance for the Club during Saturday’s home defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.
The 26-year-old central midfielder came off the bench in the 72nd minute to replace Rodrigo Bentancur on what ended up being a disappointing afternoon for all concerned, as Leandro Trossard snatched a late winner for the visitors.
A product of our Academy, ‘Winksy’ impressed throughout the age groups before stepping up to make his first team debut as an 18-year-old against Partizan Belgrade in a 1-0 Europa League group stage victory at White Hart Lane in November, 2014.
He made his Premier League debut as a late substitute in a 1-1 home draw with Liverpool in August, 2016, before memorably marking his first league start with a goal in a 3-2 victory over West Ham at the Lane that November. That was one of five goals he’s scored for us to date.
First capped at senior level by England in a 1-0 win against Lithuania in October, 2017, he’s so far appeared 10 times for the Three Lions, scoring once.
