Run for your Club in the Maurten MA RA TH ON virtual relay

Thu 06 May 2021, 17:54|Tottenham Hotspur

The Club’s official Sport Fuel Supplier, Maurten, is helping to organise a virtual marathon relay, open to Spurs fans around the world to take part in.

MA RA TH ON, which is free to enter, is a virtual team relay where runners can register either in teams of four with friends and family, or individually to then be placed in a group of four. Each team member will run 10.5km, between 12.01am on 22 May and 11.59pm on 23 May at a location convenient to them, to make up a collective marathon distance.

The results are then added together to give your team’s total marathon time and placed on a virtual leader board.

Each participating team has the chance for a running superstar to virtually join them including Spurs fan Eliud Kipchoge, Joshua Cheptegei or Kenenisa Bekele.

Legendary former player and 1991 FA Cup winner David Howells will also be taking part and representing the Club for the second year in a row.

To keep active throughout the pandemic has been so important, so I was thrilled to hear the event was taking place once again in 2021.

Spurs legend David Howells

David said: “To keep active throughout the pandemic has been so important for physical and mental health, so I was thrilled to hear the event was taking place once again in 2021. I had the pleasure of virtually running with Supporters’ Club members from Johannesburg, Fort Lauderdale and Maidenhead last year, as we each ran 10.5km in our respective cities to make up a marathon distance. I look forward to doing the same this year and virtually connecting with more fans around the world.”

We are encouraging fans who take part to register using a team name that contains ‘Spurs’, to wear your Club kit and capture footage while pounding the pavements, tagging @SpursOfficial and @MaurtenOfficial on social channels.

Prizes are available for fans who post the most on social media, who capture the most content before, during and post-event, and to the team who has the fastest collective time.
