Sun 28 March 2021, 19:16|Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane scored and claimed an assist as England overcame a stubborn Albania 2-0 in 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying on Sunday.

It took the Three Lions 38 minutes to break down the home side in the Group I encounter at the Qemal Stafa Stadium, Tirana, and it was Harry with goal number 33 in his 52nd cap, throwing himself in front of his marker to meet Luke Shaw's cross and head into the corner.

Harry struck the underside of the crossbar soon after his goal and then turned provider in the second half, picking out Mason Mount who chipped over Etrit Berisha for 2-0. That's two wins in two now in qualifying for England, and they now face Poland at Wembley on Wednesday (7.45pm).

Hugo Lloris, Tanguy Ndombele and Moussa Sissoko all featured in France's 2-0 win against Kazakhstan in Group D. Skipper Hugo earned cap 122, Tanguy started for cap number seven and was then replaced in the latter stages by Moussa, who picked up cap 66. Ousmane Dembele and a Sergiy Maliy own goal saw France home at the Astana Arena.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg remained on the bench as Denmark ran riot against Moldova, racking up an 8-0 win in Group F at the MCH-Arena, Herning.

Ryan Sessegnon, Oliver Skipp and Japhet Tanganga, his debut, all started for England Under-21s in the second match of the UEFA U21 Championship group stage against Portugal in Slovenia. Skippy and Japhet completed the 90 and Ryan played 55 minutes as Portugal ran out 2-0 winners in Ljubljana. That has left the Young Lions with a mountain to climb to finish in the top two and progress to the finals. First they have to beat Croatia in their final match on Wednesday (5pm), then hope Portugal beat Switzerland.
