Fri 26 March 2021, 20:23|Tottenham Hotspur

Serge Aurier led Ivory Coast to Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualification with a goal and two assists in a 3-0 victory away to Niger on Friday.

The right-back, who is the captain of his country, fired his side ahead from close range on 25 minutes after an initial shot was parried out to him by goalkeeper Kassaly Daouda.

He then crossed for Max Gradel to double Ivory Coast’s advantage nine minutes later, before his free-kick was headed into the top corner by Wilfried Kanon on the hour mark.

The result means Serge’s side are now are guaranteed to progress to the AFCON finals regardless of what happens against Ethiopia on Tuesday because of a superior head-to-head record against Group K rivals Madagascar.
