Legends return to action with long trip to Cheadle

Mon 21 June 2021, 07:42|Tottenham Hotspur

The Spurs Legends team will be back on the pitch for the first time in nearly two years on Sunday, as they take on members of our official North West Supporters’ Club in a charity match in Stockport.

Led by 1984 UEFA Cup-winning striker Mark Falco, the team of ex-players will go head-to-head with a group of dedicated Spurs fans at Cheadle Town FC’s Park Road Stadium.

Sunday’s match, which kicks-off at 11am, represents the furthest north in the UK that the team has played for many years and is their first outing since late-2019 after the pandemic forced the cancellation of their planned fixtures in 2020.

Former players from across the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s are scheduled to take part, with funds raised going to the Supporters’ Club’s nominated charities, including the JE3 Foundation, which was set up in memory of former defender and Spurs Legends regular Justin Edinburgh, who tragically passed away in 2019.

In line with current government guidance, tickets are limited to ensure everyone’s safety. Supporters wishing to attend are encouraged to book tickets in advance via email at northwestspurs@gmail.com.
