Everton v Spurs - how to watch, team news, key information

Tue 09 February 2021, 21:30|Tottenham Hotspur

Attention turns back to the Emirates FA Cup on Wednesday evening as we travel to Goodison Park to face Everton in the fifth round (kick-off 8.15pm UK).

Aside from a League Cup tie in October, 2009, we haven’t faced the Toffees in any competition other than the Premier League since our 1995 FA Cup semi-final defeat.

Gareth Bale started that 2009 clash, while Harry Kane made his first appearance in a senior matchday squad as an unused substitute in what turned out to be a 2-0 win at White Hart Lane.

Ahead of Wednesday night’s match, here’s all you need to know...

How can I watch the game?

Wednesday’s match is being shown live in the UK on BT Sport, kick-off 8.15pm.

Radio commentary will be available on BBC Radio 5 Live and talkSPORT as well as our live Match Centre here on tottenhamhotspur.com and the Spurs Official app, where you can also enjoy live minute-by-minute text updates, goal alerts and stats.

Full worldwide broadcast listings are available here.

How will the teams line up?

Dele has returned to training and could feature in the squad at Goodison Park, although Serge Aurier is a doubt after being forced off during Sunday’s Premier League win at home to West Brom.

Giovani Lo Celso and Sergio Reguilon remain out injured.

For Everton, playmaker James Rodriguez and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford will be assessed ahead of the tie.

Rodriguez came off during the Toffees’ 3-3 draw at Manchester United on Saturday with a tight calf, while Pickford has missed their last two games with an abdomen problem.

Midfielder Allan won’t be fit for the game having been out of action since December while forward Josh King is cup-tied, having featured in the competition for Bournemouth this season.

Who is the referee and what colours will the teams be playing in?

David Coote will referee our tie on Wednesday night, assisted by Lee Betts and Nick Hopton.

Martin Atkinson will be the fourth official.

We’ll be lining up in white shirts, navy shorts and navy socks, while Everton will have blue shirts with white shorts and white socks.

Our goalkeeper will be in orange, with Everton’s in green.

What will the weather be like?

It’s forecast to be a dry and bright day on Merseyside on Wednesday, but temperatures will drop to below freezing in the evening and it’s set to be minus-one degree by kick-off time at Goodison Park. There’ll be light winds and it’ll be partly cloudy.
