Southampton v Spurs – how to watch, team news, key information

Tue 28 December 2021, 09:50|Tottenham Hotspur

Just 48 hours after defeating Crystal Palace at home, we’re back in action away to Southampton as the traditionally busy festive period continues.

While we saw off Palace 3-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in our Boxing Day game, the Saints beat West Ham 3-2 at the London Stadium.

Here’s all you need to know ahead of the clash at St Mary’s...

How can I watch the game?

Tuesday’s match is being broadcast live in the UK on Amazon Prime Video, kick-off 3pm.

If you’re supporting us from overseas, check out the worldwide broadcast listings to see if the match is being shown in your area.

A reminder that you can also follow every kick of the action wherever you are in the world via our live Match Centre here on the website and app, complete with live text and audio commentary, goal alerts and stats.

Alternatively, join our official Watchalong on Twitch from 2pm UK.

How will the teams line up?

Antonio Conte will need to assess Giovani Lo Celso after he missed out on a place in the squad for the Boxing Day win over Palace with a minor calf complaint.

Centre-back Cristian Romero and wing-back Ryan Sessegnon are still out injured.

For Southampton, goalkeeper Alex McCarthy remains out, while Jack Stephens, Nathan Tella and Lyanco are unlikely to feature after recently returning positive coronavirus tests.

Who is the referee and what colours will the teams be playing in?

Anthony Taylor will referee the game at St Mary’s, assisted by Dan Robathan and Derek Eaton.

The fourth official will be Tim Robinson, with Martin Atkinson and assistant Richard West in charge of VAR.

We’ll be playing in our away kit, which is primarily black with coloured patterns on the front of the jerseys. Our goalkeeper will play in green.

Southampton will wear red-and-white striped shirts, black shorts and white socks with red trim, with their keeper in light blue.

What will the weather be like?

It’s forecast to be cloudy and windy on the south coast, with temperatures at around 11 degrees when the game gets started.
