Jose Mourinho described it as 'difficult to believe, but real' after West Ham scored three times in the final 10 minutes to deny us maximum points as Sunday’s derby finished 3-3 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

We picked up where we left off at Old Trafford last time out by storming into a 3-0 lead inside 20 minutes.

Once again, Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son were in perfect harmony as Harry released Sonny to open the scoring inside the first minute. Sonny then set up Harry to drill home for 2-0 on eight minutes and it was 3-0 when Sergio Reguilon’s cross was powered home by Harry on 16 minutes.

Harry came within a whisker of his hat-trick only to hit the post on 78 minutes, but then West Ham responded with two quick goals, Fabian Balbuena on 82, and an own goal from Davinson Sanchez on 85. Gareth Bale, off the bench for his second Spurs debut on 72 minutes, went close to a fourth in added time but then Aaron Cresswell’s free-kick was cleared out to Manuel Lanzini, who fired into the top corner from 30 yards, the last kick of the game.

This is the Premier League, this is the power of every team, the belief every team has, and we lost two incredible points

“Sometimes football is difficult to explain,” said Jose. “We can say we are in trouble to defend two lateral free-kicks, we can go to the unlucky side of it, last second, incredible shot, incredible goal. It’s a little out of context.

“In the second half we didn’t score, but we could have. We had better chances than them, I believe, because a beauty of Harry’s shot hit the post, then another beauty from Gareth, so we were close to scoring a fourth goal and killing the game, but that’s football, and you have to be strong to cope with games like this.

“This is the Premier League, this is the power of every team, the belief every team has, and we lost two incredible points.

“That’s three matches at home and two draws that could perfectly be two victories, and it’s a big punishment because we look to the table and it’s difficult to believe after scoring so many goals and playing so well that we only have eight points.”
