What a week for 'one of our own', Ryan Mason, against Fiorentina in the Europa League back in February, 2016.

The Academy graduate had the honour of captaining the team for the first time in our Round of 32, first leg at the Artemio Franchi Stadium in Florence, Italy. We brought a valuable away goal back to the Lane for the second leg after a 1-1 draw on 18 February, 2016.

A week later, Hugo Lloris was back and wearing the captain's armband but it was Ryan's night again as he strode through the visitors' defence before slotting home the crucial opening goal on 25 minutes. Erik Lamela drilled home from close range on 63 minutes for 2-0 on the night, 3-1 on aggregate and we wrapped up a 4-1 aggregate win via an own goal late on.

Flying at the time, we lost out to Borussia Dortmund over two legs in the Round of 16 as we challenged Leicester City for the 2015/16 Premier League title. We finished third, and Champions League football beckoned again...
