Club donates Sunday's food supplies to charity

Sat 14 March 2020, 14:15|Tottenham Hotspur

We are pleased to confirm that we've been able to donate a significant amount of food supplies intended for consumption at Sunday's home Premier League match against Manchester United to The Felix Project, a London-based charity which aims to tackle food waste and hunger in the capital.

According to the charity, 1.5 million adults in London struggle to afford to eat every day, while 400,000 children are at risk of missing the next meal.

Following the postponement of the professional game in England and the resulting cancellation of Sunday's fixture at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium owing to the outbreak of COVID-19, we have delivered over 1,200 items of produce to the Felix Project to distribute to local good causes.

These include 350 bottles of semi-skimmed milk, 460 fruit bags, 200 pasta pots, 40 packs of Tenderstem broccoli, 72 packs of baby gem lettuce, 14 boxes of tortilla corn chips and six boxes of flour buns, among other items.

Operating in London for the past four years, The Felix Project collects surplus fresh, nutritious food to deliver to charities and schools, so they can provide healthy meals and help the most vulnerable in our society.
