Club supports JE3 Day ahead of Leicester fixture

Sat 19 December 2020, 10:36|Tottenham Hotspur

Today marks JE3 Day in memory of our legendary former player, Justin Edinburgh, who would have turned 51 yesterday.

As a Club that is proud to honour Justin’s legacy, and following on from the success of last year’s inaugural JE3 Day, Jose Mourinho and his coaching staff will wear pin badges in support of the JE3 Foundation during tomorrow’s home match with Leicester City.

Justin made 276 appearances for the Club between 1990-2000, winning the FA Cup in 1991 and the League Cup in 1999.

He also wrote himself into Orient folklore as a manager, guiding the East London club back into the Football League with a promotion from the National League in May, 2019.

Sadly, Justin passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest a month later, aged 49.

The JE3 Foundation was established by his family soon after, aiming to support UK heart health charities and to campaign for legislative change – Justin’s Law – to make it compulsory for all health, fitness and sports facilities to be equipped with a Public Access Defibrillator (PAD).

Earlier this season, the Club and it’s fans raised a total of £33,170 for the JE3 Foundation through an auction of match-worn shirts from our League Cup success against Chelsea.
