Sonny shortlisted for Premier League's Goal of the Season

Fri 07 August 2020, 13:00|Tottenham Hotspur

Heung-Min Son's wonder goal against Burnley has been nominated for the Premier League's Budweiser Goal of the Season.

The public vote for the award opened at 1pm on Friday.

One of our best goals of the Premier League era, Sonny lit up the new stadium on 7 December, 2019.

Picking up the ball just outside our area, Sonny left six Burnley players in his wake in an 80-yard dash to goal, skipped past the final tackle from Erik Pieters before composing himself to slot past Nick Pope in front of a jubilant South Stand.

Already named BBC Match of the Day's Goal of the Season by Alan Shearer, Ian Wright and Gary Lineker, Sonny will now go up against Harvey Barnes (Leicester v Sheffield United), Moussa Djenepo (Southampton v Sheffield United), Matt Longstaff (Newcastle v United), Alireza Jahanbakhsh (Brighton v Chelsea), Matej Vydra (Burnley v Southampton), Bruno Fernandes (United v Brighton) and Kevin De Bruyne (City v Norwich).
