Foundation delivers summer exercise sessions for local people at stadium

Thu 20 August 2020, 17:49|Tottenham Hotspur

After months of engaging with participants virtually due to the COVID-19 lockdown, Tottenham Hotspur Foundation has begun to resume its in-person exercise programmes for local people.

Programmes are being delivered throughout the summer period on Park Lane Square, the large raised podium outside our stadium’s 17,500-capacity South Stand.

The sessions cater to people of all ages within the community, from Premier League Kicks, aimed at eight- to 18-year-olds currently on school holidays, to Shape Up With Spurs, our exercise and nutrition programme for local adults. Walking football sessions for the over-40s are also planned in the coming weeks.

In order to create the safest possible environment for coaches and participants, session timings are staggered and group sizes reduced, with additional hygiene and social distancing measures in place.

Dan Dodge, Manager at Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, said: “It’s great to see our participants so happy to be back exercising together, and in such an incredible location in the heart of our local community.

“We know how difficult the last few months have been for many and we’re delighted that we can now safely deliver sessions which help support people’s physical and mental health.”

Virtual Shape Up With Spurs classes with Tottenham Hotspur Foundation coaches are still available online via the Club’s YouTube channel.
