Toby Alderweireld has a message ahead of tonight's Champions League match against Crvena zvezda (Red Star Belgrade, 8pm).

"European nights are always special," stated the defender. "Let’s get three points together - the squad, the Club, the fans, all together. Let’s just do this."

It's a key game in Group B. Serbian champions, Red Star are top of their domestic league again with 10 wins in 11 and more importantly, beat Olympiacos at home in Matchday Two. Having drawn in Greece in MD1 but lost to Bayern Munich in MD2, both Mauricio Pochettino and the squad are well aware this is a match we need to win on home soil.

We’re lucky to have them (the fans) and we need them on Tuesday. Together, we can get through this.

"We need to beat them, especially at home with the fans behind us," added Toby, who recognised the part our supporters played in staying behind the team in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Watford in the Premier League, when Dele Alli levelled four minutes from time.

"We’re lucky to have them and we need them on Tuesday. Together, we can get through this. Against Watford, we showed there is character, desire, fight and that’s what we want to see. Even though it was a draw, a lot of fans stayed and applauded, that’s important and a good message from them. It’s a good message from us as well to fight until the end.

"We said before we need to work hard and start the momentum. I think Tuesday is now a big opportunity to get back to winning ways."
